Musala Soft at EclipseCon Europe 2017 Musala Soft at EclipseCon Europe 2017

Today two of our key experts presented at EclipseCon Europe 2017 in Ludwigsburg, Germany on October 24-26.

In a joint presentation at the forum, Iancho Dimitrov, Strategic Clients and Business Development Manager and Dimitar Ivanov, Team Leader at Musala Soft shared their experience in establishing and maintaining a full-time software development team contributing to the open-source platforms openHAB and the Eclipse SmartHome framework – and how Musala Soft made it in a win-win-win scenario (company-team members-community). More about their joint presentation here.

Do architects need soft skills? This subject was discussed during the individual presentation of Iancho Dimitrov, Strategic Clients and Business Development Manager at Musala Soft earlier today. He spoke about the specific set of skills required to every technical position to effectively communicate with practically all other roles in the project team (and beyond). The slot is targeted mainly at software and test architects and also experienced software and test engineers. More details here.

EclipseCon Europe is the Eclipse Foundation’s primary European event designed to create opportunities for the European Eclipse community to learn, explore, share and collaborate on the latest ideas and information about Eclipse and its member companies.

Musala Soft has profound experience with the Eclipse SmartHome framework from its work for QIVICON – the centralized Smart Home platform by Deutsche Telekom that allows remote control and governance of all activities typical for the regular household. It is a mixed hardware and software IoT and M2M solution that is dedicated to making the Internet of Things available to everyone – on a single platform, across different manufacturers, brands and devices. QIVICON decided to engage Musala Soft as a nearshore vendor providing both software development and quality assurance services – with the main reasons being the company`s well-established methodologies for nearshore delivery and our experience in managing distributed teams.

Driven by the idea of contributing further to the open source community Musala Soft joined openHAB Foundation in 2017 being the first Bulgarian company to become a member (http://www.openhabfoundation.org/). OpenHAB is one of the most advanced open source platforms, which integrates different systems and technologies for home automation into a single solution, enabling the unified and centralized management of devices from different manufacturers.
