The Students Institute for Mathematics and Informatics (UCHIMI) organized their 18th Annual Conference on January 12th-14th in Pazardzhik, Bulgaria.

Musala Soft traditionally supports the event encouraging the bright young talents to learn and achieve more in programming. Investment in IT education is part of the corporate social responsibility strategy of Musala Soft. For 18 years, the company has organized the programming Contest CodeIT giving the bright IT minds an opportunity to be acknowledged for their skills in algorithms and programming.

The conference was dedicated to stimulating the development of high school students in Mathematics and Informatics and is a key event in this area, organized every year in January by the Students Institute of Mathematics and Informatics at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. The event was held with the partnership of Pazardzhik Municipaity and the Mayor Todor Popov and was hosted by the Natural Sciences and Mathematics High School “Kostantin Velichkov”.

The conference was attended by 70 students from the 8th up to the 12th grade from specialized high schools. They presented 50 projects developed by them in the areas of Mathematics, Informatics and Information Sciences. The best ones were awarded and their authors will have the chance to go to an interview aiming to select two participants for the 6-weeks course of the Scientific Research Institute in the USA – RSI which will take place in the summer of 2018 at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Boston.
