Bulgaria climbed the world ladder of honor in Informatics    (българска версия)

Today, Musala Soft welcomed the National team of Informatics at Sofia Airport. Our guys won 2 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze medals at the 22nd International Olympiad in Informatics (14-21 August, University of Waterloo, Canada). Rumen Hristov, student in 10th grade in the Natural Sciences and Mathematics School (Shoumen) and a representative of Shoumen Informatics School "A&B" ranked second among 292 participants and won a gold medal.

Rumen's achievement is the highest in Bulgarian Informatics' history since 2003 when Ivaylo Riskov finished second. The other three competitors of 2010 team brought medals as well. Vladislav Haralampiev, student in the 11th in the Mathematical School "Paisii Hilendarski" (Sofia), has a gold medal. Silver medal holds Anton Anastasov, student in 12th grade in the Natural Sciences and Mathematics School, Haskovo. The fourth national representative - Mihail Kovachev, student in the Natural Sciences and Mathematics School (Shoumen) won a bronze medal.

Together, they placed Bulgaria 5th in the world in terms of medal ranking.

Trainers of Bulgarian National Informatics team are Emil Kelevedzhiev, Senior Researcher - Institute of Mathematics and Informatics, Bulgarian Academy of Science, and Prof. Stoyan Kapralov, PhD, DSc - Department of Mathematics, Technical University in Gabrovo. Tutors at the Shoumen Informatics School "A&B" are Biserka Yovcheva and Petar Petrov.
