(Българска версия)
Bilbao, 08.06.2010
Glamorous ceremony in Gran Hotel Domine Bilbao (Spain) gathered finalists from around the world at the ESI International Awards for Software Excellence 2010. As finalist in the category SME Musala Soft was represented by Elena Marinova, President and Tsvetelina Kovacheva, Director Quality and Efficiency.
An international jury evaluated the candidates for their high achievements in software development and strategic commitment to constant improvement of processes.
Official guests at the event were:
Juan Ignacio Goicolea, Viceminister of Innovation and Technology of the Basque Government;
Maria Luisa Castano, Deputy manager of public-private collaboration strategies of the Ministry of Science and Innovation of the Spanish Government;
Joseba Jauregizar, Managing Director of Tecnalia;
and Manu Prego, Managing Director of the European Software Institute.
At the IV Edition of the ESI International Awards for Software Excellence, Musala Soft is a finalist in the category SME for its successfully accomplished project - CMMI Level 3 certification. Awards are arranged in four categories: SME, International, European and Cluster Approach Project. The evaluation is based on 12 criteria, including: technological innovation applied to solve the software development challenges; Software Process Improvement standards and methods used; industrialization, certification and recognition techniques; objective measurements; social, business and organizational significance; multiplier effect.
In 2009 Musala Soft reached CMMI Level 3 and became the first and still only Bulgarian company with CMMI Level 3 certification. Musala Soft started the initiative for constant improvement of its processes by ISO 9001:2000, IT Mark, ISO 9001:2008, CMMI, flexible approaches (Agile). Due to mix of carefully selected internal initiatives and clear development vision Musala Soft reached two-digit growth in 2009. This statistic proves company's successful strategy even in the context of world's unstable economic conditions.
"The recognition is for Musala and those who traced our way to success - our customers with whom we launched CMMI; our partners from European Software Institute and ESI Center - Bulgaria; grant programs as BAS of EBRD and "Competitiveness" of the Bulgarian Government, but mostly for our team and especially Tsveti who leads all company's initiatives related to processes and quality." - commented Elena Marinova.
As Tsvetelina Kovacheva received the award and thanked personally to all the people who participated in the preparation and certification of Musala, she shared: "Of course I am happy! We won't stop here - some new initiatives are already in progress and we steadily pursue our next targets. We are in line to realize full integration of CMMI and Agile models' best practices."
