Student won the BASSCOM tournament     (българска версия)

Ivan Lyubenov, graduate of the 164 Spanish language High School "Miguel de Cervantes", Sofia is the winner of the Bulgarian Association of Software Companies (BASSCOM) tournament, held as the third round of the private programming contest organized by Musala Soft and PC Magazine Bulgaria. Ivan is a student and a first time participant in the contest. Computers and Informatics are just a hobby for him, his main interest is photography. Second was Georgi Jordanov, 11th grade high-school student in Informatics of PMG - Sliven. Georgi is only 17, but already thinking of going to Sofia University, to continue his education in Informatics. Third place went to Alexander Georgiev - the winner from last year's final round of the contest. He is a sophomore student in Sofia University.

Representatives from the academic field from major Bulgarian universities and also from various state agencies and institutions attended the event, along with contesters, sponsors, organizers and journalists. The award ceremony was held on 20th January in Bitburger Club, during the traditional BASSCOM New Year's party.

BASSCOM tournament is organized for the 7th consecutive year as an expression of one of the association's priorities - to support education in the field of computer technologies and informatics. It is a challenge and presents an opportunity for present and future programmers to check their knowledge and to stimulate their creativity.

The prize fund and the organization of the tournament were carried out with the support of several BASSCOM companies - Balkan Services, Melon Technologies and Sirma Group.

The contest continues with the fourth round, under the patronage of the Bulgarian Association of Software Developers (BASD). The solutions can be up-loaded directly on the website http://konkurs.musala.com.
