Two gold and one silver medal for Bulgaria at the 19th International Olympiad in Informatics

The Bulgarian national team of Informatics won three medals, two golden and one silver, at the 19th International Olympiad in Informatics which took place in Zagreb, Croatia. The team, compound by Iskren Chernev, Rostislav Rumenov, Emil Ibrishimov and Svilen Marchev, continued the tradition of strong Bulgarian presence at international competitions in Informatics. Our guys had an excellent performance and due to their achievements Bulgaria ranked sixth in the world in medals and at 13th place in the unofficial final points ranking.
Iskren Chernev and Rostislav Rumenov won golden medals. Emil Ibrishimov won the silver and Svilen Marchev had an excellent performance as well, not only at this competition but also at the Balkan Olympiad in Informatics, held on July.
Representatives of Musala Soft welcomed the team and their coaches with presents at the Sofia airport and attested the respect of the company towards their achievements. Three of the guys participate in the private programming contest of Musala Soft and PC Magazine Bulgaria. Rostislav and Svilen are winning the rounds regularly.
Bulgaria is awaiting the Olympiad in 2009, when our country will be the host. Mentioned event is of a great importance for us because will be celebrated twenty years of the first International Olympiad in Informatics, held in Pravetz (1989). Plovdiv will be having the honor to welcome talents from all over the world.
