Tsvetelina Kovacheva from Musala Soft lecturer at a seminar - “Software Engineering and Beyond”

A seminar for software specialists – “Software Engineering and Beyond” was held on 19th of June at club "Sugar" in Sofia. The event was organized by the Bulgarian Association of Software Developers and sponsored by the companies Musala Soft and Soft Consult Group.
The seminar focused on introducing the auditory with the principles of software engineering, the typical phases in the development process and best practices for successful project management. Special attention was paid to the Business Processes Modelling, Agile Development, Extreme Programming and implementation of standards for software development.
Besides of sponsorship, Musala Soft participated as a lecturer too. Tsvetelina Kovacheva, QA Manager at Musala Soft made a presentation about “Implementing Models and Standards for Software Development. Benefits and Risks”. She went through some of the most popular models and standards for effective software development process. Special attention was paid to the IEEE Standards for Software Development, the CMMI model, ISO standard and other development models like Spiral, RUP, Iterative and Agile. The lecture also outlined practical aspects of the implementation of these standards and models along with the potential benefits and associated risks. The presentation of Tsvetelina Kovacheva was based on her experience in foundation of the Quality Management System of Musala Soft, which system is adapted to the ISO Standard and the CMMI model (Capability Maturity Model Integration).
