Sofia, 24.01.2007

On January 24th, on an official ceremony in “Radisson” Hotel – Sofia, were bestowed the awards for the “IT project” competition, which was conducted for a third consecutive year. The initiative is organized by Computerworld Magazine, with the support of First Investment Bank and its purpose is to popularize the experience of the IT Industry in Bulgaria. In 2006, over 30 projects competed for prizes in two categories. In category “Enterprises”, the jury assigned first place to the Business Intelligence solution of OMV Bulgaria, elaborated by the software companies – Musala Soft and BTS – Business Technology and Software.
The implemented BI solution is applicable in two directions – gathering and structuring of data, for the needs of the Marketing Department, and on the second level of its development - for the needs of the Controlling Department. The solution helps defining the strategy for the development of services in the gas stations, for planning the promotions, measuring the technical effect and so on. The successful realization of the project in OMV Bulgaria is a premise for implementation of the BI solution in Rumania and Serbia.
As Mr. Tsviatko Zagorski, Manager “Business Processes Development” in OMV Bulgaria was absente during the event; the award was taken by Mr. Plamen Tsekov, a Managing Partner at Musala Soft and Mr. Ivan Gatev, Managing Director of BTS, the official representative of Business Object platform for Bulgaria. “Musala Soft is specialized in provisioning of software services mainly for the foreign market, but it is an exceptional pleasure for us that in Bulgaria we can work with client as OMV and together with BTS to realize such an interesting project. The award, bestowed to OMV is a serious recognition for us as well, and we truly hope that with common efforts we will manage to expand and improve this BI solution.” – shared his thoughts Mr. Plamen Tsekov.
