The eleventh edition of the most prestigious private programming contest in Bulgaria, organized by Musala Soft and PC Magazine Bulgaria finished on May 10th 2006    (българска версия)  (DE Version)

The final round of the most prestigious private programming contest in Bulgaria, organized by Musala Soft and PC Magazine, once again took place in the Bulgarian-Korean Internet Center in Sofia on May 10th 2006.

The awards were bestowed in the Press Club of the Bulgarian News Agency. Among the guests were representatives of the organizations that had strongly supported the contest - State Agency for Information Technology and Communications (SAITC), Bulgarian Association of Software Companies (BASSCOM), Bulgarian Association of Software Developers (BASD) and Microsoft Bulgaria.

The award for the winner Angel Jigarov was given by Hristo Hristov, Manager of Directorate "Innovations and Management of projects" in SAITC. For his excellent presentation Angel won a PC, provided by the general sponsor of the final round - SAITC. Pavel Vladov ranked second in the competition and took a package of software products from Microsoft Bulgaria. The third place was for the only girl among the first twelve participants - Ivelina Zaharieva. This year she took part in the contest for the first time. Ivelina won a printer from Lexmark Bulgaria. There were many additional awards for all the finalists provided by ASBIS, BMG, Brainware, CNSys, Comel Soft Multimedia, Digital Partners and Sirma Media. Diplomas from Musala Soft and PC Magazine were granted as well.

Most of the finalists in the contest were former and present participants in the National Team of Informatics and hold prestigious international awards. 82 programmers from all over the country took part in this year's contest. The event was actively supported by the IT industry: the Christmas round was patronized by BASSCOM; at the beginning of the year another round was organized with the collaboration of Microsoft Bulgaria and the Sixth round was supported by BASD.

"I'm extremely pleased that the contest is becoming more and more popular and the interest of the young Bulgarian talents in the field of programming is increasing. The participants have the possibility to demonstrate their knowledge and to convince themselves that they can always rely on us for their future realization." - stated Elena Marinova, president of Musala Soft.
